I do not know what is wrong with me, and that is a huge part of my problem. I have a chronic thyroid condition which explains some of my symptoms, and I have chronic orthopedic symptoms. More recently I have had issues with my upper and lower G.I. tract, and very serious and painful symptoms in my lower back, side and abdomen. Often the pain radiates into my hip and down my lower left leg. To me this suggests maybe my colon - or maybe my ovary is involved - but I am not a doctor.
I just recently ended up in the ER for a massive abscess in my gum. They didn't do very much for me in the ER other than write a prescription for antibiotics.
I do not have health insurance and so very little has been done to get at the reason behind my symptoms. If I go to the ER I can expect a very long wait, a cursory exam, and a prescription for antibiotics. I have been diagnosed with the flu, a stomach virus and an irritable bowel. These 'diagnoses' are all based on visual exams with no blood drawn, no x-rays, no ultrasounds, no swabs, no nothing. I also had some serious exposure to mold in the last motel I stayed in. I took photographs because it was so bad. I don't know what kind of mold it was - I know that some are worse than others - but it was bad enough to provoke asthmatic symptoms and cause sores to form in my mouth and nose.
Because there is no public transportation and my vehicle was destroyed by vandals - my situation has become all the more precarious. David has been tireless in his efforts to find help for me back home - and that is where I really need to be.
